Sneakers y Sueños, Inc. marked a major milestone this month, collecting 126 pairs of shoes during the nonprofit organization’s first-ever community shoe drive. The three-week initiative began July 27, 2026, and was made possible through the support of the Law Offices of the Public Defender Carlos J. Martinez, which opened its doors to the drive and gave employees an opportunity to donate new and gently used footwear.

Residents of The Palace Gardens turned their creativity into an opportunity to help local children start the new school year prepared and excited to learn. The assisted living and memory care community recently hosted its 5th Annual Back-to-School Celebration, providing 30 South-Dade students with backpacks filled with essential school supplies, including tablets. What made the celebration especially meaningful was the role Palace Gardens residents played in making it possible.
